Shipping & Handling

  1. How much does shipping cost? Our shipping rates are calculated by each item's weight.

    To determine your shipping cost, add your desired items in to the cart and click "Get Estimate", or select "Checkout Now".

    These are some typical shipping costs (for items shipped to the lower 48 states):

    (1) Game: $3.99
    (2) Games: $5.99
    XBox 360 controller: $5.99
    XBox 360 DVD drive: $9.99
    World Tour drum set: $19.74

  2. If I purchase more than one item, will I get a discount on shipping?

    Yes! We offer discount shipping rates for multi-item orders, which are indicated on every item page.

    How it works: When you purchase more than one item, the highest “first item” shipping cost will be applied, and you will be charged the “additional item” shipping cost for each item thereafter. Please remember that shipping rates vary by item.

  3. How long will it take to get my order?

    All orders are shipped the following business day after payment is received. Please note that we do not ship orders on weekends or major US holidays. You will be notified by e-mail when your payment clears, and also when your order ships.

    US order are shipped USPS 1st Class, Priority Mail or UPS Ground and typically take 3-7 business days.

    Canadian Shipments: Orders are shipped via U.S. Postal Service International Airmail and typically take 6-14 business days, but can, in some cases, take longer. All duties/tariffs are paid by the buyer. (They are NOT included in your order.)

  4. Where do you ship? We ship to all 50 US States, APOs and FPOs, and Canada.
  5. Will you provide tracking information for my order? Tracking numbers are not provided for every order. If a tracking number is available, the number will be included in the email we will send you when your order is shipped.

  1. How do I place an order?

    On any item page, you may click "Add to cart" to begin the checkout process. From the checkout page you may choose to "Continue Shopping" for more items or "Checkout Now". When you are ready to complete the process, you will be guided through our secure checkout process step-by-step.

  2. What forms of payment do you accept?

    You may pay by Paypal, Credit (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) or with Google Checkout. We DO NOT accept cash, checks or money orders.

    Please note: Coupon codes are not valid when using Google Checkout.
  3. Do you charge sales tax? Sales tax is only added to orders which are shipped to a Massachusetts address.
  4. How do I know it is safe to buy from you? Thumbmonkey is a Better Business Bureau accredited business. We also offer a 30-day, 100% Guarantee on all of our products. If you have a technical problem with any item we will provide you with a replacement (if in stock), or a refund (including shipping), if out of stock.
  5. How can I remove an item from my order, or cancel an entire order? If you would like to make any changes to your order, AND your item has not already been shipped, you can contact us at service@thumbmonkey.com or give us a call at (781) 891-0922 (Mon. – Fri., 9 AM to 5 PM ET). Please be sure to reference your item or order number so we can access your order information.
  6. What is your return policy? All of our products are backed by a 30-day, 100% Guarantee. If you have a technical problem with any item we will provide you with a replacement (if in stock), or a refund (including shipping), if out of stock.

Product Information

  1. What are ESRB game ratings?

    The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) ratings are designed to provide accurate and objective information about the content in computer and video games so you can make an informed purchase decision. At Thumbmonkey, we make it a priority to provide all available ESRB information for each video game we carry.

  2. How do I know if the game I want is compatible with my console?

    NTSC vs. PAL (Region-Specific Game Formatting)

    Most video game systems have "region lockouts" which means that they will only play games made in their region. The majority of our video games are in NTSC format. This means that they are only playable on consoles purchased in the U.S. and Canada. The other most widely recognized format is PAL which applies to game consoles in most other countries. If you have a PAL console you will not be able to play NTSC games on it.

    There are a few exceptions to note regarding "region lockout". Cartridge games, such as for Nintendo DS, PSP, ALL Gameboy systems, Super Nintendo and Sega do not have region-specific formats which mean that they are playable on ANY system, regardless of which country you bought it in. PlayStation 3 games are also not region-specific and will play on any PlayStation 3 system. PC (computer) gams are "region-free", as well, and will play on ANY PC computer system.

    Video game accessories are not region coded and will work with their corresponding game system, regardless of which country you are in.

    Backward Compatibility

    Backward compatibility most currently applies to systems such as Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3. To put it simply, if a game is backward compatible it means that it can play on a newer version system which it was not originally intended to play on.

    Xbox 360/Xbox: Not all (original) Xbox games can be played on the Xbox 360. You can find backward compatibility information in all of our Xbox game descriptions. If a game IS backward compatible, it will indicate so in the description. If it is NOT compatible, you will not see any information regarding compatibility.

    Nintendo Wii/GameCube: ALL Nintendo Gamecube games can also be played on the Nintendo Wii (but you MUST have a Gamecube controller)!

    PlayStation 3/PlayStation 2/PlayStation 1: NOT ALL PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 games are compatible with the PlayStation 3. To find out if a game is compatible, you can visit this link: (http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/CompatibleStatus). ALL PlayStation 1 games are compatible with PlayStation 2.

  3. Do you sell both new and pre-owned games?

    Yes, we sell both new and pre-owned games, in various conditions. Our pre-owned games sometimes come with a case, without a case, and with or without a manual. The item's condition is always indicated on the page where you found it.

    Please note: In order to provide our customers with the lowest prices, we occasionally buy merchandise with damaged packaging, which upon arrival at our warehouse is removed and recycled. This way, you can find the game you want at a competitive price, and we’re helping to protect the environment!

  4. Why are your products so inexpensive? Are they knockoffs or copies?

    Instead of paying high prices from large game distributors, Thumbmonkey searches far and wide for discounted merchandise which helps us make gaming affordable for everyone! This merchandise can be in the form of close-outs, over-stocks, or products with superficial packaging damage which the large retail stores can't sell.

    The short answer is no, our products are not knock-offs nor copies!

  5. You don't have what I am looking for. When will you have it in stock?

    In order for us to offer you the lowest prices, we only stock merchandise which we can buy at a great deal (and then pass on the savings to you). These opportunities come and go, and therefore, we never know what or when will be in stock in the future.

    The best way to keep track of our inventory is to check back often!

Returns, Damaged Items, and Orders not Received

  1. What is your return policy?

    All of our products are backed by a 30-day, 100% Guarantee. If you have a technical problem with any item we will provide you with a replacement (if in stock), or a refund (including shipping), if out of stock.

    In the event you receive a defective or broken item contact us at service@thumbmonkey.com with an explanation of the issue and the item number. We will provide you with a postage-paid label to return the defective item (US customers only).

  2. I never received my order! What now?

    Please remember that, on average, it takes up to 7 business days for U.S. customers to receive their orders, and 14 business days for Canadian customers. We ship all of our packages PROMPTLY (the day after payment is received), but occasionally, because we have no control over the postal carriers, shipping times can be delayed.

    If you feel your order has been significantly delayed or may have been lost in the mail, please contact us and we will do everything in our power to make things right.

  3. Can I come to your store to resolve my issue?

    Unfortunately, no. We do not have a retail store. We are an e-commerce company which means that we only sell merchandise through the internet. Our warehouse is based out of Massachusetts, and while we would love to have your company, unfortunately we are not open to the public.
